The collection (1979, n.d.) contains the original proceedings of the First International Conference and Workshops on Iceberg Utilization for Fresh Water Production, Weather Modification, and Other Applications. Included in the documents are published technical papers, copies of lectures and speeches presented at the conference, brochures, and other materials related to the conference. Also included are news clippings that related to iceberg utilization, many concerning the conference in particular, and media releases from the Iowa State University Press Office. In addition, the records include minutes from the conference committee meetings, correspondence prior to and following the conference, notes taken during organizational meetings, and audio tapes of the conference. The collection also contains publicity photographs taken of Prince Al-Faisal and other scientists, photographs taken on iceberg research voyages to the Arctic and Alaska, and a slide collection that was presented at the conference.
